Do you ever get worked up enough by a manager that you want to risk your own well being by just quitting?

[quote:Anonymous Coward 35291633:MV8yMTU1MTcwXzM2NDI0MjUzX0NCODc4M0VD] I work at a hospital, have been there 20 and an additional 15 years....so I've been there longer than my boss has even lived. This entire hospital is SO nasty, all bosses are degrading, condescending, threatening your job....and this filters throughout to anyone In The lower supervisory levels. First off when a supervisor tells you something that is derogatory, threatening, etc. I 1) document what exactly was said, date and time the note (ideally have an email, in my case this is standard) . Anything document, including witnesses...but dont tell them...Don't be afraid that if threatened to ask for this in writing or if on the phone, you know I'm recording this conversation (despite what they say, you CAN use the recording to your lawyer, doctor, labor relations board, just not IN court unless they give authorization) 2) I went to my doctor complaining of chest pain, stress and anxiety, not able to sleep and it's because how my boss harasses me and threatens my job. Look, Dr, we all NEED our jobs. So now He has this documented. So if need be his records can be subpoenaed. 3) call the labor relations board and ask if stuff like this is allowed by law.....ask your union if you have one 4) always KEEP your own mouth shut to your boss. Once you have enough of documentation, you can go over your boss's head, but probably better if you have a human relations dept. the boss's boss might protect your immediate boss. You can tell them you have all medical and legal documentation and if the harassment doesn't stop immediately "I have obtained legal and govt related advice and am prepared to pursue this to its resolution" Your boss WILL BE FIRED. The trick to this all is keeping your own mouth shut, and all the documentation. The hardest part is keeping quiet while you pile up documentation. I've gotten rid of a couple of supervisors and I'm still working. I have done this before successfully, and right now I have a full book on my present boss and have the attitude.....go ahead, try try it.... [/quote]

There is 1 person in particular at my work that tries her hardest to get under my skin.
I've been nothing but kind. I work WELL beyond my means and my paygrade, and I always put on my game face at work.
I'm coming up an escalator about to go on break and god forbid I text my direct manager about a schedule. I get an overhead call on the last step.
I call the manager and she was watching me. She blows it way out of proportion and says "next time I see you use your phone it'll be my phone. Do you understand?"
Of course I politely say I'm going on break and i don't do it ever anyways, and with all due respect the escalator isn't the salesfloor.
I could just feel her negativity and I can't handle it while at work. I don't want to blow a lid and give her what she wants. But she just kept pushing the negativity, even saying "she's right next to me. Check your phone [name]."
No. Fuck you.
I am always positive. I'm beginning to see that these little jabs have a sole purpose of making me angry and it works. So I won't let it anymore.
Im gonna keep check on this.
Finish the shift or leave negative nancy to deal with her kindergarten on her own?
