[quote:Anonymous Coward 19921272:MV8yMTU2OTU0XzM2NDU1NTM2XzgyNTdFOUU=] I have a 01 silverado 6 cyl. that I overheated once and the lifters started to tap , I changed the oil , use a light weight 5w 30 or better yet the 0w 30 and add a additive to it, I cant remember which one I used but shop around for a engine treatment that quiets noisy engines. It worked within a few hours of driving and after about 2 weeks you could barely hear it , 270,000 miles and counting be sure to change the oil often until the tapping stops [/quote]
