Original Message Despite all the new powers aggregated to the ABC agencies of the United States; renewal of the Patriot Act, the NDAA and probably hosts of other unknown laws to aide in the capture of "terrorists," why is there now, suddenly, the need to have armed drones in our skies? What has happened since 9/11 that would require the US government to have quick-strike drone responses above the US populous?

I cannot think of one valid reason for US citizens to be monitored in the sky with drones carrying Hellfire missiles. Are we in danger of invasion? Is there an Iranian cell planning the next big attack? Why is no one asking this simple question: Why do we need these armed drones? There has been no major attack for 12 years!

While I applaud Rand Paul for at least bringing this to the attention of the citizens, I still do not understand why we need them in the first place.
