This is a very controversial issue right now, and it has people on both sides very emotional about their beliefs and opinions.
On one side, supporters of Gay Marriage say that Christians should apply the Christian concept of love to all people, regardless of sexual orientation. They also say that refusing marital rights to homosexual couples denies them basic freedoms granted to them through the constitution.
On the other side, opponents of Gay Marriage say that homosexuality has been thouroughly rejected and labeled a sin in both the Old and New Testament of the bible. They also say that legalizing Gay Marriage opens the window for other controversial and outlandish notions of Marriage, to include Polygamy, underage Marriage, and the marrying of animals with humans.
