It is very easy to call others quacks or find fault with suggestions given here regarding the subject of this thread. However, you offer no medical, clinical or publication resources to your statements or and counter proof. You may very well be correct in your statements about sodium bicarbonate... partially anyway, and or other statements. However, you have not come up with one statement of FACT with attached resources such as identified on the Case Studies of salvestrols or sodium bicarbonate, etc. I will locate and post information regarding BS here when I have more time. As with any treatment, we each have to do our homework before following a course of action. All contraindications should be evaluated and hopefully discussed with an appropriate medical professional. You "anonymous coward" are no medical professional... and for that matter either am I. However, I post what medical professionals have published and let the reader find what resonates with them. There are many Pub Med and peer reviewed papers that are easily viewed on the web regarding various forms of salvestrols. There are about 100 types based on what I have read. I did find this statement at this link regarding a patent... http://www.salvestrols.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Salvestrols.pdf Salvestrols are a patented technology and the outcome of two decades of research, at a conservative cost of at least US$30 million. If you would like to see more resources - http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message2163163/reply37051665 Good day! EDIT: In the back of the book: "Salvestrols Nature's Defence Against Cancer" there are 56 references in the popular press supporting the book's material. Also included are 70 research references.
I'm not stupid enough to post who I am on a forum such as this. Just as you haven't. And it's pretty obvious that you're not a medical professional. However it's also pretty obvious you're involved with the selling of salvestrols. However, currently I'm working for a charity-funded cancer research institution just outside of Cambridge. My qualifications include an MSc in cardiac physiology and a PhD in pharma-kinetics. Whether you believe that is entirely up to you. Now on to the science, I'll start with our old friend baking soda. Baking soda is good for a few things, one remedy it used to be used for widely was to relieve heartburn. It does this as it neutralises stomach acid-hydrochloric acid (HCl). However in doing this it also neutralises itself. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) so the chemical reaction goes like this NaHCO3 + HCL = NaCL + H2O + CO2 i.e. the baking soda is plus acid is converted into common salt (NaCl), water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2 which is why a lot of people burp after ingesting it). There is no sodium bicarbonate left to be absorbed into the body. The stomach acts as a buffer to prevent this. Now you can alter your body's pH directly with a base but you have to inject it intravenously. I really wouldn't recommend this at all though as you can kill yourself very easily. This procedure needs to be constantly monitored by professionals and is generally only used in life or death situations. The link you provided about soda bic altering the near state of cancer cells was interesting but what you need to understand is that not only was this a computer simulation it was a computer simulation in vitro. There are plenty of common compounds (paracetamol's my favourite) that either halt or slow cancer growth or kill the cells in vitro. However when these are applied in the real world they're ineffective. Especially when ingested. To go back to what I posted earlier though and this is THE most important physiological aspect of altering your body's pH...ALL of your body's cells would react to a change in pH levels. Doesn't matter whether it was too acidic or too alkiline. Out of the "goldilocks" pH range your cells start to function abnormally and will then start to die. That's all of your cells, not just cancer cells. On to salvestrols (did you know that Salvestrol is a registered trademark?.....you can't make money off plants and herbs though can you?) Irrespective of the fact that some newspaper articles cite salvestrols as a wonder drug (conveniently printed as "references" in a book promoting them...)all of the scientific publications refer to salvestrol's cancer fighting properties have been done in lab situations (see above for paracetamol). None have been carried out after subjects have ingested them. Not one peer-reviewed scientific paper has been published to support this. Although there are plenty of unsupported "case studies"... If it sounds like a duck etc. Now I would suggest that the best salvestrols can do is mimic part of a healthy diet. As we all know, a healthy diet is good for you and to a limited extent can HELP PREVENT certain types of cancers. What a healthy diet CANNOT do is cure you of cancer. That is physiologically impossible. As for my "lack of resources"; I'm not the one promoting any miracle wonder-cure for cancer, you are. Therefore if you wish to keep things scientific, the burden of proof is entirely upon you. However I have proved the inability of NaHCO3 to alter the body's pH by ingestion and I have also challenged your claims regarding the scientific studies for the ingestion of salvestrol. So Mr Salesman, it's over to you.
