[quote:COINTELPRO Agent:MV8yMjAwMTYwXzM3NTc4MjM4X0FDNkQ3REZD] I'm sure I'll be called a shill for saying this, but I was taking 375 mg Effexor every day for a year and a half. I ran out one day, and just forgot about it. I never had any ill effects, and the depression I was using them to treat never came back. I can honestly say that after trying everything (exercise, church, diet, vitamins, etc.) this shit really helped me, when all the other anti-depressants I'd tried didn't work, and worse, made me unbearably tired or even more depressed. I understand my experience is the exception to the rule, though, and I'm sure it does suck to get the "brain zaps." I've read many, many accounts of people who experience this when stopping SNRI's and I'm thankful I'm not one of them. I will also say, I think they are WAY over-prescribed and it concerns me (and should concern others) that their mode of action is largely unknown, along with any long-term side effects. It's been 9 years since I stopped taking them, and I've noticed no side-effects whatsoever. I realize you posted this some time ago, but here's hoping you're feeling better by now! [/quote]

Anyone ever come off this drug and lived to tell the tale brain zap free? Ive taken fex for a long while and at a large dose. I'm currently going cold turkey (375mg to 0)but if anecdotal evidence is anything to go by, I have significant problems ahead.
If you have had a brain shiver, or several hundred, you will know how misanthropic and coldly chemical they are.
