My dad used to make that for us growing up. And I think in a survival situation. Something like that could REALLY help bring your moral up. Especially if you've been eating twigs, shrubs, and small game. Good tip!

I was basically poor as a child and that was served a lot.....another cheap food I grew up on, and I was non the wiser, I thought I was eating like a king was tuna salad....

Yea, I know tuna cans aren't boxed meals, but to me, another comfort food.

What about those Suddenly Salad boxed meals.....they actually have dehydrated veggies in them I think....

That too, might be another comfort/morale building foods...

If you have the resources, the best way to really go is freeze dried stuff.......it really is almost as good as fresh food...

Original Message So, in a survival situation a good meal can really help ones moral. Overall it's your willingness to continue on that will keep you alive. So, storing away some comfort foods could really make the difference between life and death. In our world today, boxed foods aren't necessarily good for you. But, if there was a major food shortage tomorrow, or the world completely went to shit. Your dietary needs would completely change. The sodium in the boxed meals could really help you. Especially if you spent a long day sweating and working in the field.

In my survival stash I keep a variety of boxed meals. Most of them are rice meals. My favorite brand is Zatarain's their jambalaya isn't bad. And I highly suggest you give it a try. What are some of your favorites?
