Missing 10-Year-Old Girl May Be With Man Met Online
Witnesses See Girl Get In Vehicle
POSTED: 12:28 pm CDT April 14, 2006 Email This Story | Print This Story PURCELL, Okla. -- Police are searching for a 10-year-old Purcell girl who disappeared Wednesday afternoon.
FBI agent Gary Johnson said law enforcement across Oklahoma and Texas are looking for Jamie Rose Bolin and following hundreds of tips.
Johnson said the kidnapping could be random, or could be someone Jamie met on the Internet.
The disappearance was first treated as a runaway, but an Amber Alert was issued after another girl told police Jamie had been using a computer to talk online with a man.
He said the girl was seen by several witnesses at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday getting into a dark blue Chevy Tahoe at the Purcell library. There have been no confirmed sightings of her since.
Johnson said the Tahoe is distinctive with tinted windows, black leather custom seats, the letters "KC" on the seat headrests and a large "FOX" logo on the rear window and a Texas license plate. A partial reading on the tags was "Z-6-9."
Johnson also said the Tahoe has damage on the right side front and rear doors.
And authorities are looking for a tall, thin white man in his 20s who may be with the girl. Johnson said the man might have an earring in his left ear.
He said about 100 FBI personnel, Purcell police officers, McClain County deputies and members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are involved in the investigation.
Jamie is about 4 feet 8 inches tall and 110 pounds with red, shoulder-length hair, blue eyes and freckles. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and either white shorts or blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call (866) 541-1102.
Purcell Police Chief David Tompkins said Jamie was first reported missing by her father when she didn't return home Wednesday night. An Amber Alert wasn't issued immediately because no one had witnessed an abduction.
