Definitely the ear lobe DOES NOT match and I'm 100% sure that the earplug is for preventing leakage of brain matter

Hypothesis:

1. It's a dummy.
2. It's a doppelganger.
3. They blew up his skull and had to reconstruct it with someone else's tissue.
4. It's him, but it's a dead body.
