If you've ever been abandoned, you know that there is no worse feeling in the world. Whether it was your mother, your father, your significant other, or someone else, that feeling is indescribable, and stays with you forever. Someone who you loved, and who you thought loved you just walked out of your life. It only takes one time to have a universal fear of getting close to anyone no matter who they are, or how genuine they seem. Not only are you terrified of being abandoned again, but your self-esteem is crushed. You may get over it initially, but you will never quite be the same again.
