[quote:Anonymous Coward 39481720:MV8yMjM2OTYxXzM3OTQ5MDMyX0YyQTg3QTg0] It's weird how some people LOVE Vegemite/Marmite (me included) & some people HATE it. But yeah, spread very thinly onto buttered bread or toast! NOMNOMNOM!! [/quote]

My 15 year old daughter and her boyfriend watched an old Men At Work video on the Youtubes, and asked me if I'd ever had Vegemite. I had a college dormmate who let me sample her's back in the day, so it'd been 20 years or more since I'd had any.
We bought a jar of it on Amazon, spread that shit nice and thick on toast, and promptly thought it was the gnastiest stuff evah (to quote my daughter).
I did some research into it, asking WHY do Aussies like it when it tastes so gross. Turns out I was using it as a jelly spread when I should have been scraping it thin like butter.
Went back for Round 2 tonight, and admittedly it was much better this time. Washed down with a cold German pils beer, it was pretty awesome actually.
