It seems like the post few days, a lot of the threads I've seen on here is "Muslims did this" or "Random Muslim did that." And as I read these threads, I become more and more horrified...both at the actions taken and the responses that people have had to them.
I've seen people advocating (not always directly mind you) rounding up all Muslims and deporting them, jailing them, or...worse, simply for being Muslim. "Oh, this dude just happened to be a Muslim and you also happen to be a Muslim? You must be a terrorist like him!"
Honestly, is that what we've become? A nation so fearful of Islam, that in our eyes, anyone who is Muslim is automatically a terrorist? That they all should be round up and sent somewhere or just simply killed?
Let's think about this; if I even dropped a hint that the same thing was going to happen to the Right and/or Christians, you all would be outraged, and justifiably so. It would be a violation of some of out most basic and most dearly held rights, as both Americans and as humans.
And yet, and yet, if I said, "see these Muslims over here, we're going to detain/deport/kill them," no one bats an eyelash. No one stands up and says that's wrong. Hell, I've seen it justified as, "they're not humans, they're wild animals."
Look, I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm trying to understand the mindset of people who single out this particular group for hate.
Oh, and one more thing, yes, I know that Muslims have committed acts of violence in the name of their religion...just as Christians have, and Jews, and Hindus, etc.
