Well, the difference is that the ones you mentioned fell into enemy hands, while the US soldiers of WWII should have been liberated by an ally, after all the Rusdiand were WWII allies, but were treated as enemy POWs by the Russian allies and nobody in the US government lifted a finger to help free these guys.

You are perhaps unaware that Patton was disposed of for bringing up the obvious, that we should have aligned with a reorganized Germany and wiped out the Soviets once and for all because the US had far more in common with a post war Germany than a post war Soviet Union?

Patton was SO VERY FUCKING RIGHT, everything the US suffered from, the undending betrayal and subversion of the soviet masters and managers which bled those that saved them dry as thanks, all of that could have been avoided, save for the very ones that Patton and later Jod McCarthy tried to illuminate.
You know who killed America, you can tell because they will tell you its impossible to even think it or you're an anti------ and you owe them.

For more than 30.000 US POWs who were captured by German troops, life became a living hell when the former German POW camps were taken over by the Russian army. These poor souls were marched off to Siberian labor camps while the US army, as well as Presidents Truman and Roosevelt, were standing by doing nothing.
After all it was "Uncle Stalin" giving the orders, as he was lovingly called by Pres. Truman and not some badass German Nazi.

Following the victory in Europe in 1945, both Presidents Roosevelt and Truman sent directives to U.S. command in Europe that said there would be "no criticism of treatment [of American POWs] by the Russians" and that there would be "no retaliatory action to Russian failure to cooperate," which referred to Russian failure to give the United States access to American POWs in the German POW camps the Russians had captured. As a result, only the 4,165 American prisoners were released, those from the one camp visited (at Reisa). The remaining 21,000 Americans prisoners in German camps taken over by the Russians were abandoned to the Russians. They were shipped to Russia to lives worse than death. Records were then falsified by U.S. and British intelligence (an equivalent number of British POWs were also abandoned) in an effort to hide what had happened.
