Original Message What would cause shadows in dreams? I get this from time to time and then I immediately wake up in sleep paralysis. For instance this morning I dreamt that I was in my old house that I grew up in and then I noticed this shadow coming down the steps toward me. I then go into the other room because I was nervous and then I stop and said "Ok who is this" and then I woke up in sleep paralysis but was able to free myself from it after a split second.
