[quote:Anonymous Coward 41974329:MV8yMjc0NDUwXzM4NjgxMjcwX0VENkIzQjkx] [quote:Question EVERYTHING:MV8yMjc0NDUwXzM4Njc0NTU5XzE2NDA5MEQx] Scientists have falsified data to push carbon taxes three times now and if the facts stood on their own, I would have no issue with what is being pushed. But, the fact that they have lied multiple times, there is something to hide. And if you must lie to push an agenda, then obviously the facts do not stand up to what's being pushed. http://www.examiner.com/article/global-warming-hypothesis-falsified-by-data-climategate-e-mails-expose-carbon-tax-scam
Obama and his cronies will only succeed in forcing the phase out of coal-fired electricity generating plants in the U.S. and decimating the U.S. coal industry. None of this will have any actual beneficial effect on the planet. This is because at the very same time the U.S. is taking these ill-conceived actions, India and China will each be continuing to open a new coal-fired electricity generating plant EVERY WEEK. We ALL live on the SAME planet. Therefore, even if the environmental claims were true, and that's a big "if", unless ALL of the large polluting nations take the SAME actions, there would never be any reasonable hope for actual improvement to occur. This is about money, plain and simple. This is about providing cover for the creation of a new tax on "The People". This is all about money, only money.
In sweeping proposals released after four years of frustrated efforts, Mr Obama ordered new curbs on carbon emissions from power plants and called for America to ready its defences against an already-changing climate.
The president also surprised environmentalists by signalling he would reject a controversial oil pipeline if it was found to “significantly exacerbate” the problem of carbon pollution.
“I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that is beyond fixing,” Mr Obama told students at Georgetown University. “As a president, as a father and as an American I’m here to say we need to act.”
Mr Obama first promised a new push on climate change during his inagural address on a freezing morning in January, warning that failing to cut emissions “would betray our children”.
Today, as Washington sweltered in the summer heat, Mr Obama finally laid out the details of his plan, which can be carried out by executive order and therefore do not need Congressional approval.
