[quote:eekers:MV8yMjg5NTQwXzM5MTEyMDk2Xzc2NEJENkYw] [quote:BioReaper:MV8yMjg5NTQwXzM5MTEyMDY2X0YxRDNDQTNG] I have a culinary question for you cooking geniuses :) I have a lo mein recipe that calls for 'two inches' of grated fresh ginger root, but I don't have any. I do have powdered ginger however. Can I substitute the powdered for the fresh? I'm thinking I have to cut way back since it's powdered. What do you guys think?
I would say season to taste. The powdered ginger has a lot less kick than fresh ginger root (less zinnng!) but you don't want to overpower it with that flavor either. It will have a different taste than the fresh but I'm sure it will still be good.
Just kidding, not one of those threads. Just wanted to make the point that you can eat filling foods and still keep it low cal.
It wasn't raw spinach, btw, I sauteed some garlic in coconut oil then steamed it in the pan with a lid on.
What's your favorite quick, nutritious meal?
