[quote:Spam Killer:MV8yMjk4OTM2XzM5MTQ1ODkwX0E1QkE4NTAy] Wonder if the water isn't being contaminated with coal particulates or coal gasses that had previously been walled off by mineral deposits left by the water? A high carbon content might produce a similar smell. Suggest you take a sample in an ultra clean glass bottle to your county or state water agency. [/quote]

My wife and I both took a shower last night
and we both noticed a strong smell of smoke
in the shower.
I turned on the kitchen faucet and ran water
over my hand and smelled it, and it had a woody,
smoky smell.
There had been several lighning storms yesterday,
but no fires, and no smoky smell in the air.
We are about 30 miles from the epicenter of
the small 2.7 earthquake yesterday in Gilmer County.
BTW this wasn't a sulphur smell, but a woody smoky
smell.
The area of the earthquake was also the area with
trouble over fracking, but not sure if there's a
connection.
