Original Message I live in a small farming community outside of Chicago and overheard a group of corn farmers talking about a 60-something y/o farmer who owes the Government-

OVER ONE MILLION POUNDS OF RAISINS & $650,000 IN FINES BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO HAND THEM OVER.

They aren't raisin farmers however they were outraged on behalf of all raisin farmers who are having their crops stolen without compensation. I couldn't believe it so I looked online and found they were not kidding! Here's the link to one of the stories->>>>>>>>

What I want to know is:

1. What is the Government doing with the raisins? (They aren't being donated or sold as far as I can tell)

2. Is there a reason they don't want the public to have raisins? (Such as....they are actually good for us or not controlled by Monsanto)

3. How are they utilizing a depression-era law to steal from farmers and getting away with it?

Ok, I'm done. If anyone could possibly shed some light on this it would be appreciated!
