No copies of the original Hebrew survived past the last century BC. The LXX was what Jesus and the apostles quoted. The Masoretic is the Hebrew text used by most translations now, but it post-dates the time of Christ by several hundred years.
I'm happy someone has actually produced a new translation based on the Byzantine Text tradition rather than the regurgitated Westcott and Hort Nestle Aland Critical Text. I wish they used the Majority Text instead of the TR. This new MEV translation seems to be identical to the NKJV (my fave translation). Wonder if this is just going to be another KJV revision that everyone forgets about. The NKJV is the only KJV revision that stuck around and had a real impact in the market, can't see this supplanting it. Though it does seem to have a little more backing behind it than other KJV revision attempts except for the NKJV. Will probably get a copy of this just for the sake of it being a rare modern translation that isn't CT and it being literal rather than dynamic equivalence.

I'm quite excited!
I must admit I have not had a chance to read through any other translation much. I guess I'll start doing this.

There is a translation of the original Mattithyah (Matthew), Hebrew Matthew out or coming out done by Michael Rood, I know of 2 proper corrections that are not in any other text (greek or others translations that were translated off hebrew version but greekized, made to match the greek text)
