Original Message I am in a class at my NY state university called "musics of the world" and it just so happens that the significance of of the tongue thing was revealed to me in this class today!

It's based on a going into battle war ritual of a New Zealand Aborigines tribe called the Maori. The ritual itself is called a haka, and the sticking out of the tongue, is a message to the enemy that says "if we defeat you we are going to eat you"
