Original Message So I've had "sleep paralysis" for as long as I can remember. Most of the time it's me "awake" in my body not able to move. I would freak out and do the silent scream and eventually regain control of my limbs.

As It happened more I got more used to it and let it last longer.

After high school it stopped completely except for two other experiences which I wanted to share with some people.

1st. This was my first sleep paralysis that I can recall and the most vivid. I was under 7 years old and had just been put under anesthetic for the first time for tooth removal. That night I was lying in my mothers bed relaxing and passed out.

I awoke to "shadow" figures all on the side of me, my hands were pinned down and I couldn't scream. But I remember picking my chest up off the bed even though I was still pinned @ the arms. Eventually everything gave out and I was free. I ran crying into my mothers arms trying to explain what happened, got passed as a night mare.

after that I would get the paralysis quite often almost nightly, but never shadow figures or being pinned down.

2. About 4 years ago (and 3 years since I stopped having paralysis) I woke up in my bed. I had the tv on still and a pillow slightly covering my face. I woke up to feel a heavy, heavy pressure on my chest as if something was sitting on me.

There was an instant fear in my head that told me I did not want to move the pillow. I started to freak out as it became more intense and I swear on my life that I heard a growl. I was freaking and start of repeating in my head "im not afraid of you sick fuck", eventually it disappeared. Everything was extremely vivid in my head, I swore it happened but still don't know what it was.

3. This was about 3 weeks ago I was sleeping in my hotel room while my GF was taking pictures for a wedding we were attending. Once again I woke up in sleep paralysis, I heard the hotel door open and some shuffling. In my head I was okay, the GF must of come back early, I was still half asleep. I even heard it get close to the foot of the bed, TAP MY FEET. Then a few seconds later I have the pressure on my chest again and my wrists like Im being pinned down again.

This time I immediately in my head was like, "okay, get off of me I am not afraid." I literally was thinking the words "happy thoughts" anything positive and eventually the pressure disapeared and no growl this time. I wasn't nearly as afraid cause I had experienced before and every time nothing damaging happens. But the fear is always there initially.

So I came here to see if anyone else had these experiences, remedies, explanations, thoughts, phone numbers for a psychiatrist? lol

Really just curious to see what other people have to say about this.

Thanks guys.
