Original Message im an amateur astronomer, i knew a lot about comet ison but i just came to know about the 333 year cycle and its awesome, there may be others who dont know this yet, so heres some info about it (complied by me from various websites)

In the year

318 BC Ancient chinese astronomers observed a comet and also documented numerous episodes to detailing how a comet preceded Bubonic Plague.
(since telescope will be invented after 1.3 thousand years, the comet must have been bright enough to be visible with the naked eye)
Meticulous Observations were compiled in 300 BC in a book named Mawangdui Silk, it details 29 different cometary forms and various outbreaks of 'strange death' and disaster that followed them dating as far as 1500 BC

333 years later, 15 AD, 'The Star of Bethlehem'.
Many ancient texts report seeing a star-like comet in the sky.

333 years later, 348 AD - no reliable documentation of a major event, however during the second year of the Peloponnesian War (430BC) The Plague of Athens was a devastating epidemic, killing thousands but this one 'may' be unrelated.

333 years later, 681 AD, "Comets are vial stars, every time they appear in the south, they wipe out the old and establish the new. Fish grow sick, crops fail, Emperors and common people die, and men go to war. The people hate life and dont even want to speak of it" - Li Ch'un Feng, Director, Chinese Imperial Astronomical Bureau
(marking the possibility that a comet have been seen that year, which lead to the statement.)

333 years later, 1014 AD - A swarm of a comet's debris/meteors struck the Americas, ending the whole of the Aztec Empire, causing tsunami in England, British Isles, and North sea countries. Comets were already known to the Aztecs as a very bad omen.

333 years later, 1347 AD, a Comet named ‘Comet Negra‘ passed very close to the planet Earth, again spreading Black Death (bubonic plague) it killed 200 MILLION people. This comet is documented as remarkably bright and since there are still about 200 years for the telescope to be invented, it was also visible with naked eyes.

333 years later, ‘the great Comet of 1680′ passed close to the Earth. Named ‘Kirch’s Comet’, what followed was The Plague of Vienna, causing 'at least' 76,000 deaths, This comet is well documented to be remarkably bright and visible with naked eyes.

AND NOW- 333 years later, 2013 AD, C/2012 S1 or 'Comet ISON' is coming in late 2013, which is already remarkably bright, and will be visible with naked eye in late 2013 as it comes closer to the Earth.

The path of the 1347 Comet Negra and those before it, is little known but Comet ISON that will appear in late 2013 has similar path to that of 1680's Kirch's Comet, implying to the possibility that it may be the same comet, which has a 333 year cycle, and the possibility of carrying certain biological material that causes such events. These events are THE most major events of bubonic plague.

Most probable dates for the ISON to be nearest to the Earth is sometime between 28th November and 26th December.
