[quote:Anonymous Coward 46176056:MV8yMzYxNjQxXzQwMzc2OTE1XzRBQzI1RDMw] [quote:Anonymous Coward 19091052:MV8yMzYxNjQxXzQwMzc2NzIxXzZDMUNFN0Uw] Im guessing that most of you who have posted on this thread are very similar in age to me; I am hitting the big 5 - O next year. Am I right? Where we so very much differ is this: even at a very, very young age (say 10) I wondered at ( as isnt it a wonder?!) how so many people were so very wound up in gender difinition...... Its more often men, but there be the women too, who just put a little too much of their very essence, their value, their identity into whether they have a poke, or whether they have a hole ( now dont act so fuckin shocked; if you DARE to let your little ego-addled brain look at it, it really comes down to this, now doesnt it????????) Are we not, we HUMAN beings, so much more than this????? This younger generation, for all their ADHD and video-game addicted short-sightedness UNDERSTAND that gender is a rather arbitrary (if not statistically common) definition. You, my generational compatriots will be shown by history to be true troglidytes unless you ponder the inanity of your prejudice. Im not banking on y'all seein the light. Please, prove me wrong.
They won't see the light 052. These hot-button issues are too deeply seated for them to objectively understand. They've been conditioned to react this way since childhood. They belong in a Stephen King movie starring in their role as a gang of bullies.
Cassidy Lynn Campbell was named homecoming queen at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif., but she’s reduced to tears in a YouTube video as she talks about the backlash.
Bullies ruined a transgender teen's first days as a homecoming queen.
Cassidy Lynn Campbell, 16, cried tears of joy on Friday when she won the crown at her California high school, but euphoria turned to anguish when hate-filled comments began to roll in.
"I can never have something good happen to me and people just be happy for me — never," the sobbing teen said in a YouTube video posted Saturday. "I'm always judged and I'm always looked down upon."
Students at Marina High School crowned Cassidy on Friday, making her the first transgender student to win the title in the history of the Huntington Beach, Calif., school.
