Ok, I already know the #1 advice I will receive...GET TO THE DOCTOR! and I am...tomorrow.
I'm just trying to figure out what may have happened and thought I would see if anyone had any ideas.
What happened? First, I'm an old fart...61, overweight, etc.
I started having (minor) knee pain a couple of weeks ago in my right knee. No injury I remember but I had moved an extremely heavy piece of furniture (300lbs)a week before and had to use my legs to push it a lot.
So, the pain keeps getting a little worse, (still not bad) until last Monday.
Wednesday I decided to check with my doc. (General Practice)
He said my knee was "inflamed" and he actually drained a little fluid and gave me a high priced anti inflammatory.
I go home, put ice packs on, take my meds and wake up Thursday feeling much better already.
BUT
I had a trade show to attend for my work and it unfortunately meant a lot of walking...so
I'm walking around (no pain) when suddenly with no warning my knee erupts in massive pain and I collapse under the pain to the floor.
Attempts to stand on it were pointless....I had to be taken out in a wheelchair and went back to the doc.
He sends me for x-rays and says it's just the inflammation and to keep taking my meds, stay off the leg, get a brace and come see him in 10 days! WHAT???
It's now Sunday and I still can't walk on the leg or barely move it without pain so tomorrow I"m going to a plan B...
Now, keep in mind...there was no "injury" moment I can point to that started all this but I'm thinking something has to be torn in there...going to doc again in the morning but I'm thinking I just need to get to an ortho specialist at this point?
Anyone ever experience anything similar? Just looking for some thoughts....this sucks
