Just my theory, but I think that if "THEY" want people dependent, weak and at their most vulnerable, "THEY" will wait until the fields stop producing, during flu season, when the environment is as much a barrier as they are, and when daylight is shortened and we have less time to see what they're trying to do.
Also, "THEY" have been stockpiling. It would make sense for them to try and wait until the season is over, so they can fill their food reserves one last time.
So, IF this kind of scenario is ever to happen, I suspect that they would prefer to wait until the start of winter to make their move.
I hope my theory will never be tested. Wait and see, I guess...
