How long is The Church Age?
We have to look at types and shadows in the Bible.
Num 35:5 And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand
cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand
cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst:
this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
The Levites were only allowed to walk 2000 cubits on the Sabbath. This defines the legal
Sabbath Day’s journey.
Jos 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by
measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for
ye have not passed this way heretofore.
God commanded that the people remain 2000 cubits behind Joshua, the Levites, and the
Ark. The Promised Land is a type of Heaven. Joshua is a type of Christ. Therefore,
after Joshua crosses the Jordan River, the people remained 2000 cubits behind, a type of
years and define the dispensation of grace. 2000 cubits is a Sabbath Day’s journey and
that’s the distance the people had to cover to cross over.
Act 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is
from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
The Apostles, by walking to Jerusalem, a Sabbath Day’s journey, after Jesus’ ascension,
made the transition into a new role as priesthood.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light:
We are the church, following 2000 years behind Jesus. We must count 2000 cubits from
the Crucifixion (33 AD), where formerly we counted from the birth of Christ. Counting
from the Crucifixion, we count in “Times,” which is the scriptural interpretation.
2000 Times = 720,000 days = 1972.60 years
1972.60 years from the Crucifixion puts us at 2005.60, seven months into 2006.
