Original Message All of my staff, and the staff of others in my role, all have what must be ADD. They cannot stay on a task long enough to finish it, forget endless amounts of detail and always are trying to juggle shifts and come in late or leave early in pursuit or because of some recreational event like concerts or festivals or I don't even know what. It's like they are grown up infants. They cannot do even light manual labor without endless breaks and complaining and end up with a sore back. Even the guys who look tall and tough are absolute wimps after ten minutes of basic work. They all claim they have ADD or some condition that apparently gives them a free pass in their minds to screw the pooch all day. Do not even get me started on the mindless texting and Facebooking. I have told them all I will fire the next person I see zoned out texting on a phone. I work in a semi office / light labour environment. Not a tough job for these guys but you need to stay somewhat busy. Everyone is constantly zoned out and blanking staring into a phone. I wish there was workplace cell phone jammers allowed to take away these endless sources of distraction. And it doesn't phase anybody when important jobs aren't done that could affect the company. There is zero personal responsibility. These people are all early to mid twenties and live at home or have six roommates and no gumption in life beyond texting and hanging out giggling. Today's youth are useless. Skinny jean wearing eunuchs. I would take an old worker over ten youths today.
