It would seem that nothing is sacred when it comes to the NSA. Israel would be lowest on my list of possibilities, but I would guess it's a non-close-ally country like a Russia or China.

China, being as tech savvy as they are, would probably have been too complicated of a target. Russia seems like easy picking for such large sweeping intelligence gathering, but you'd hope the cold war would have taught a contrary lesson.

My guess, which is why I think the implications of this are huge, is that this mystery country is a "first world" country, as opposed to Kenya, Mexico, the Philippines, or the tiny little banking islands of the Bahamas. All of which are able to be conceptualized as dissimilar (speaking from US.)

If a Germany, Russia, England, Japan, Canada, or a United States popped up on the list, a lot of demanding voices would start shouting I believe.

A worrisome compliment to the pending reveal of the Obama Administration's justification for the use of drone strikes on American citizens, is Wikileaks' announcement of their intention to release the name of the final country in which the NSA records every word of every phone conversation. Glenn Greenwald, the reporter chosen by Edward Snowden to release his information, has stated that his reason for not releasing this information already is, basically, the fear of it causing bloodshed. That fear, along with pressures from US governmental agencies.

Sorry for the mouthful of a subject, but I didn't know how else to describe it.

Anyways, seems like too much doom for my normal gloom guys. Is this about to be the shit storm igniting?

Is the mystery country going to be the United States?

Maybe Ukraine?

I almost don't believe the AP, but their track record is pretty clear for not bsing up the joint.
