ok, i just started working at a local university hospital, a pretty good hospital at that, well known and a great reputation.
anyways, for the past few days i've been eating at their cafeteria. their meat selection.. seems to carry a pretty peculiar trait. their cheeseburgers will smell like (how can i put this), a range between a very non-pleasant odor, much like a yeast infection or the smell one can occasionally get following a bout of menses.
i really cant.. further describe this smell. you'd just have to smell it.
they usually wrap them up and upon opening it, you can smell it right away. its disgusting. i took it back and they gave me my money back this time and i got a pork chop meal instead. tasted fine. but two hours later, i was sick in the bathroom.. and threw up.
the next day, a coworker, a fellow nurse there, who'd never had a cheeseburger there, had one (she hadnt known of what happened to me the day before) and complained about the smell and taste of it and how it made her stomach turn. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EVEN PUT THAT IN YOUR MOUTH?! jesus..
but anyways, i was talking to my aunt, who used to work in various hospitals over the years as a nurse as well, and she said that some hospitals are known to use certain cleaned, sterilized human 'waste' (be it fecal, flesh, etc) left over from certain surgical departments and the such.
thing is, id not be very suprised.
what do you think? is this common practice?
