[quote:Michele 129339:MV8yNzYzNTNfNDgzNzEzOV9CNzJCNUQ0RQ==] the history of the Pit in this country was long and well established way before these backyard breeders bred them for much of what some of them want from them, dog fighting or protecting illegal substances, dealers, and generally antisocial types who hang with their own exclusively and want this "I'm bad attitude". Pits were a part of families and very popular till the depression. Spanky's dog was a pit,Buster Brown ,his dog Tige and the R.C.A. Victor dog was too. the Queen's sister has a whole kennel of them that follow her about at home. They are loyal, dedicated, funny and tolerant. Socialize them,do not let little kids put their faces in their faces (the most common cause for dog bites from all breeds of dogs)and with any breed of dog introduce them to all instead of looking for them to be kept out of the social contacts you expect in your home. Great dogs, have had three. And the reader is correct for alongtime German Shepherds and St. Bernards accounted for 50% of the dog bites, and Vets do not like working with the shepherds. dobie had a bad rap and never made the top ten list of dogs that bite people. It is the people and not the dogs most typically and I do not live in the ghetto! [/quote]

I just don't get it.
Pitbulls are screwed up. Most attacks on kids are by pitbulls. Those are not regular dogs...
Me and my husband were putting garage sales signs the other day. There was a overweight middle age woman walking a pitbull. He was really walking her.
Pitbull saw my husband with a sign and a hammer and started growling at him.
That woman tried to come the dog down, but he didn't seem to care what she had to say....She finally pulled him by the leash and walked away. He kept looking back. She had no clue what she was doing. We have a whole neighbourhood full of kids here, and I've seen 3 people in the vicinity with pitbulls. I also saw one pitbull running around loose several months ago.
I wish they had some kind of a law against that breed.
