Prov. 6: 16-19. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Curse the whisperer and double-tongues: for such have destroyed many that were at peace. A backbiting tongue hath disquieted many, and driven them from nation to nation: strong cities hath it pulled down, and overthrown the houses of great men. A backbiting tongue hath cast out virtuous women, and deprived them of their labours. Whoso hearkeneth unto it shall never find rest, and never dwell quietly. The stroke of the whip maketh marks in the flesh: but the stroke of the tongue breaketh bones. Many have fallen by the tongue. Well is he that is defended from it, and hath not passed through the venom thereof; who not drawn the yoke thereof, nor hath been bound in her bands. For the yoke thereof is the yoke of iron, and the bands thereof are bands of brass. The death thereof is an evil death, the grave thereof were better than it. It shall not have rule over them that fear God, neither shall they be burned with the flame thereof. Such as foresake the Lord shall fall into it; and it shall burn in them, and not be quenched; it shall be set upon them as a lion, with thorns, and devour them as a leopard. Look that thou hedge thy possession about with thorns, and bind up thy silver and gold, and weigh thy words in a balance, and make a door and a bar for thy mouth. Beware thou slide not by it, lest thou fall before him that lieth in wait.
Forgiveness and restitution are inseparable. Where there is no restitution their can be no forgiveness.
Luke 6:41-45. Slander comes from an evil heart.
Ps. 109:3. It arises from hatred.
I Tim. 5:13. Lack of faith plus idleness breed slander.
Prov. 11:19.. Hypocrites are addicted to slander towards the just.
PS. 50:19-20 The wicked are so addicted to it that they slander even their family.
Rev. 12:10 The devil is an "accuser" or slander.
Ps 52:4. The wicked love to destroy men with their slander.
Prov. 10:18 Anyone who indulges in slander is a fool.
Thou shalt not bare false witness. It is the same as murder.
