Tony Blair today became the first serving Prime Minister to be quizzed in a criminal inquiry.
The police are looking into claims that some people who lent money to Mr Blair's Labour Party were put forward to become Lords, which may be illegal.
Mr Blair chose the day of the report into Princess Diana's death for the interview - leading to claims that he had used it to "bury bad news".
Downing Street ensured the police visit was kept secret until after the Diana report was being made public.
It's a big honour to become a Lord - also called a peerage - but you can't become one in return for money.
The police spoke to Mr Blair as a witness. It's not suggested they think he has done anything wrong.
(Yea right, I'll believe that one! Lets expect a 7/7 style terror attack in London very shortly for the media to take their eyes off Blair's very many sins & crimes!
As prime minister Mr Blair is allowed to pick people he thinks should be made Lords.
He had to explain to the police the reasons why he chose each person he thought should be given a peerage.
Political experts say it is very unusual for a prime minister to be questioned in a criminal investigation, but also said the interview has been expected for a while.
