Look at the Moon closely. There are a lot less number of "craters" on the darker regions of the Moon. Secondly, all visible craters are perfectly round. Do you know why? Because they are traces of explosions. If it were meteors, the craters would not be round - they would be non-symmetric, elliptical, with bulges on one side.
Time to think.
