[quote:A Friend:MV8zNTI5NTU2XzYzMDUzNDYwXzVFODc2RjZC] [quote:Whiskey Tango Foxtrot:MV8zNTI5NTU2XzYzMDUzMzgzXzVDNDIwNURB] You will probably have a lot of Christian despise this idea. The reason why is that we believe the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. And we serve a jealous God. I understand that Taoism is simply the philosophy of human spirit. But I would think that problem would be the same as it is with these fads within Christianity itself. When you start worshiping the product of God instead of God, due to earthly benefit, then it could become idolatry. However I associate everything with God. I am a huge science fan. However everything I research I will consider how it is used by or helps God. I always cringe at the extreme sides that don't realize how close science and God really are. So I could take Taoism and relate it to God while putting him first. Just because it is not in the cannon doesn't mean it does not make perfect sense and align with the teachings of God. I will get flamed for this response by ultra religious. But it is only an opinion.
This is how I believe as well. Tao isn't worship. One can be a taoist Christian. :rose:
I consider myself a born again Christian. I began my walk in different ways. I have studied many paths.
I believe taoism to be a philosophy which is compatible with the teachings of Jesus. I have read they ARE compatible and I have read they are not. Please give me your thoughts on this.
I think of it the same way that there are messianic J^ws that there are taoist Christians...
