[quote:Anonymous Coward 306374:MV80NjYxODRfNzE2OTkxNV81MEM3NUNDMg==] Black Friday with regard to retailers refers to their profits going from being in the red (the red side of the ledger showing an operating loss) to the black side of the ledger (showing a profit). It is not a negative connotation. [/quote]
So I think it's curious that the day after Thanksgiving, the biggest spending orgy and economic boon came to be know as Black Friday which previous reffered to an economic disater. What do TPTB have in mind? Then of course there is one of the earlist terrorism movies made called Black Sunday. Maybe all three Blacks will occur at once.
Black Sunday Plot Outline:
An Isreali anti-terrorist agent must stop a disgruntled Vietnam vet cooperating in a plot to commit a terrorist plot at the Super Bowl. *(or college bowl)
1. A day of stock market catastrophe. Originally, Sept 24, 1869 was deemed Black Friday. The crash was sparked by gold speculators, including Jay Gould and James Fist, who attempted to corner the gold market. The attempt failed and the gold market collapsed, causing the stock market to plummet.*(seems like the markets could crash)
2. The day after Thanksgiving in the United States. Retailers generally see an upward spike in sales and consider this to be the start of the holiday shopping season. It's common for retailers to offer special promotions and to open early to draw in customers. *(terror attacks at the mall?)
