[quote:etheric traveller 290249:MV80ODY0MzlfNzU1MjQ1N181QjUzNjgyQw==] [quote:Anonymous Coward 357285] Well, I don't have an answer for you exactly - but I will make this observation: Have you ever noticed that sexual desire is a desire that increases the more you indulge it, and diminishes the less you indulge it? [And by indulge, I mean mentally as well as physically.] Any desire that controls you is unhealthy, but our various desires are also a part of being born into humanity. Maybe you should explore why you desire the things you do, and if those reasons are unhealthy, address those root causes. Either way, you should work on learning to control your desire - but I'm not sure if its possible to eliminate desire altogether.
And sometimes when one resists they are tempted even more! Desire is part of human nature, it makes up part of who we are, our essence. It's part of that be fruitful and multiply thing. Look, I am chasted and not by choice. The right man just has not entered my life. To me sex and marriage are sacred. I do have the kundalini btw, which does make the sex issue even more difficult cos it will fiercely ignite the inner fire with its ascent. I have learned tho to do what the tantric monks do tho, I transmute the sex energy to spiritual energy and ride it up the spine. And if ever I were to find my man, I would still use the tantric techniques to be one on many levels with my mr right. So I do not deny sex of its desires, only that it requires mastery over it. Also I also treat desires a just another one of those things that frolicks playfully in the mind.... that is observed but not to be obsessed over, nor attached too. The concept is not to cling to anything of the mind. Consider thoughts liken to holding a stone in one's hand. One must not forever cling to the stone, but only acknowledge it and then let it go as it falls to the ground. Clinging brings attachment, and at any time I can be pried from one's hand and lost, better to willful chose to let it go on one's own. Appreciate, cherish and savour but do not cling to, or become obsessed by. Life goes by better when this principle is learned. Btw, this was taught to be ethers, it was given via rhema. Later found out this was also taught in buddhist teachings too. LOL. Etiher way tho, still good wisdom. :) Btw, Vizz had a very good handle on it as well. Well spoken there Vizz.
How does one eliminate sexual desire? I find that it's one thing which is getting in the way of my spiritual growth and if I could eliminate that desire, I would be free to do my life's work unburdened.
