[quote:Clavain:MV81MzM5NjRfODIxMDMxMF8yRTQ3NDhDNQ==] [quote:Anonymous Coward 413258] Sure, the earth is billions of years old, and soon, 12 foot tall aliens will be landing on earth, to tell you they are extraterrestrials. Whatever it takes to prove there is no God. If one is blind, then they cannot see. Words do not create light for the blind, only the Spirit can do that. If one is adamantly against the truth, no amount of light will illuminate them. In an absolute, there is no way one can prove the age of the earth, one way or another. I can't prove it is 6983 years old, but I can't prove without an absolute doubt, that the earth is 20 billion years old either. It is what somebody takes faith in. It is simply a choice of the mind. When you die, you will go where you choose to follow. So what you're saying is: Nothing can be absolutely proven. According to some of the oldest writings known to men, there were people who thought just as you pretend to. The earth split open, water gushed out and all of them were killed horribly. There's a lesson there for you personally.
If this is meant to scare me, I can assure you it didn't work. I believe the flood happened, but not on such a grand scale, plus the Ark is nonsense (unless they kept DNA somehow with lost ancient knowledge). I believe it happened and I believe it killed a lot of people. But innocent people died too, believers died too. When was the last time you heard of unexplainable things happening to 'bad' people? Probably this flood was the last time. In my experience, it seems the 'bad' people dont get any worse treatment throughout their life than the devote belivers who do everything 'right' I want to do what is best for the Species of Humans that are my family. I want to be a moral person who cares for others, but I don't need a reward like eternal life to be good. I think it is the end when my brain dies. But I am not sad, I am happy becasue I saw this life and was conscious of myself. I was and I am.
It has to be, how can a piece of rock or a skull be descibed as a 'million years old' or whatver, it would be less than dust by that time span.... discuss please.
