Why does Islam hate women so much?

The other Abrahamic religions are misogynistic to varying degrees, with (mainstream sects of) Christianity being the second most, and Judaism in my opinion being last on the list because the ancient teachings actaully acknowledge the divine female essence of what they call God. But what is it with Islam? They have Imams on YT instructing men on how to beat their wives. Books have been written by Mullahs and Sheiks on this very topic. Here are a few YT vids not for the faint of heart or the naive fools that believe that this is a "religion of peace".

Why does Islam have such a beef with women? There is even an entire verse about beating your wife in their holy book, the koran:

YUSUFALI: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them; but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).
I have never read any verse in the bible or Torah similar to this, although there are some pretty hairy verses in all of these fables. It seems Islam really has it out for the female. Why? What is it about a woman that is so threatening and vile to a Muslim that abuse of a woman has survived in their canon for 14 centuries?
