[quote:amorphous cupboard 16186705:MV81Nzk0MDFfMzEyMTA0OTRfQjk5QzA4MDI=] I hear this every night. Only indoors. It's between a bottom E and the F on the bass string of a standard tuned 6-string guitar. I think it's around 41hz. It would be handy to get the exact frequency. BTW it stopped when I used the guitar to experiment with matching the sound. The tinnitus "solution" is basically saying "We have a word for it but we have no idea what it is." This is the name given to all sounds heard than can not be traced to an external source. If you go to a doctor or an ENT specialist, the only thing you're coming home with is; "It's tinnitus, you probably don't remember the damage to your ears when it was done. It might go away, it might stay for life. There's no way of knowing." Keep looking, someone will get it. I can't shake the feeling that the bones of my skull are being vibrated and the "sound" is a by-product. Holler back. AC [/quote]
For the past month or so I have been hearing a very low level humming sound. No one else hears it and I'm starting to wonder WTF is going on. I hear it mostly at night and early morning, because I'm guessing it's the quiet time of the day (night).
This humming is not constant, it sounds like an electric motor trying to cycle. I've turned off all the curcuits in the house so I know it's not from within the house. I can even hear it when I'm out in the woods or at the neighbors house.
It's really starting to bug me out!
And no it's not tinnitus.
