Original Message A family member asked if anyone in our family was on food-stamps because they filled-out a job application for a chain book store and it asked if anyone in your family was on foodstamps.
We wondered what the purpose of the question is?
I said, "Are you sure that it didn't ask if someone in your house recieved foodstamps?, because maybe the government gets some kind-of report on that in case people get hired they drop the foodstamps or something?"
He said, "No, it asked specifically, "Mother, Father, anyone in your family."
We couldn't figure-out if recieving foodstamps would make a difference in being hired, like maybe the store gets a tax-break for giving a food-stamp family member a job, or if it would be an advantage, or a disadvantage, and really why do they ask that?
