"David Letterman Busts McCain For Lying
Let me explain before you watch the YouTube footage (below): I've just been told that on David Letterman's Late Show airing tonight, the talk show host catches GOP presidential candidate John McCain in a big fat lie. Here's what happened: McCain was supposed to do Letterman tonight, but about 90 minutes before the broadcast, the politician's people cancelled. I'm told the senator himself called Letterman to say, "I have to go back and fix the economy. I'm going to get on a plane now and go." The show then managed to book Keith Olbermann at the last minute. At the start of tonight's taping, Letterman explained to the audience in the studio and at home what happened to McCain's scheduled appearance. Suddenly, behind the scenes, people in The Late Show control room see a live feed of McCain in Katie Couric's CBS studio being miked at the same time he was supposed to be on Dave's show. Letterman is informed of this during the commercial break. So when the show comes back, Dave orders the control room to cut to the live McCain/Couric footage. Then Letterman bashes McCain for not being honest. So here's the 9-minute YouTube clip of tonight's taping that teases everything:
