And is it really orange?

It is probably too soon to tell whether it is orange or brown, but I suspect that it is brown. I donīt know why they seem to think it is orange. Obviously there
is probably a problem with the filter.

What I would do is take two images
of them side by each, one orange and one brown, and you will see that the brown one
looks just slightly better.

I studied graphics and hence I know these things.

And you know water under the surface is not out of the question. Water exists inside rock as you know. Yes it does, contrary to popualr belief but right inside solid rock you can find
water. Tyr it some time. Crush some
rock in a bell jar and you will get moisture.
