Original Message Biden is turning out to be a disaster just as many of us feared. hmm so he is going to reach out to the commies and will only install a missile defense after consulting with Russia which is idiotic because Russia is the reason why Poland and the Czech Republic need a missile defense system. What a moran Joe is!

Outreach to Russia

Biden said the U.S. will press the “reset button” on relations with Russia, which have been clouded by NATO’s expansion, U.S. plans for a missile-defense system in eastern Europe and Russia’s five-day war against Western ally Georgia last August.

Reeling from the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia was powerless to resist NATO’s embrace of countries once in the Warsaw Pact, the Kremlin-led military bloc that broke up after the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. Now Russia is fighting back, trying to stifle plans to bring Ukraine and Georgia into the alliance.

Noting that the U.S. objects to Russia’s recognition of two enclaves that declared independence from Georgia, Biden said that “the United States and Russia can disagree and still work together where our interests coincide.”

One of those areas is missile defense, Biden said. The new administration will only go ahead with a Bush plan for anti- missile installations in eastern Europe “provided the technology is proven and it is cost effective,” Biden said. “We’ll do so in consultation with you, our NATO allies, and with Russia.”

Polish, Czech Doubts

Biden’s questioning of the missile-defense program collided with appeals by officials from Poland and the Czech Republic, the two former Soviet satellites picked as sites for the anti- missile bases.

Poland “still agrees” to let the U.S. base unarmed interceptors on its territory, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told the conference. The Czech Republic, set to host a U.S. tracking radar, believes it is “important to develop the future missile-defense system, which would protect us against increasing threats of WMD proliferation in the Middle East,” Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Vondra said. WMD is a reference to weapons of mass destruction.
