[quote:Anonymous Coward 569913:MV83Mjk0NzJfMTExODM0MjhfNjZFMzU0RDI=] [quote:OneAngryMom] http://www.military.com/military-report/bill-seeks-to-punish-those-who-mislead-into-war?ESRC=miltrep.nl and here's another interesting blurb: Bill Seeks to Punish Those Who Mislead into War Week of February 16, 2009 U.S. Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., introduced legislation that would impose fines or prison time on presidents or executive-branch officials who "knowingly and willfully" mislead Congress to gain authorization to use U.S. military forces. The Executive Accountability Act was introduced last week and is co-sponsored by Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-HI. If passed, the act would apply only to current and future presidential administrations and executive branches. The act calls for fines or up to 10 years in prison for leaders found guilty of misleading Congress in order to get authorization to go to war.
What's the penalty for misleading Congress to give you billions of dollars? Oh, yeah I forgot, billions of dollars.
The Air Force initiated a Voluntary Retired Rated Recall Program. Pilots, navigators, and air battle managers who retired as a lieutenant colonel or below, and who are younger than 60, may apply for the program. Officers will be recalled for 24 and 48 months and become eligible for deployment. The application period runs until Dec. 31, 2009.
