[quote:Enaid:MV83NDQzNjFfMTE0MTcxMDdfRjFEMTJCM0I=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 629079] ginger snaps ginger snaps ginger snaps
I have home-made crystalized ginger. And therefore ginger sugar. I tried those. Luckily I was mixing up ginger water, honey, pinch of salt, pinch of baking soda. The doc said that is what really helped me. That I kept trying to drink something with glucose or sugar - even if it didn't stay down. Otherwise - I probably would have been hooked to an IV. ICK
I know many of ya'all aren't into medicine. But here goes.
I was dragged kicking and screaming to the dr after more than 3 days of not keeping anything down.
Was given a drug that worked on my nausea in 10 minutes! Dissolves under the tongue. So far I've only taken one dose. Now I can drink and take tylenol and such.
It is called Zofran ODT - and was orig for chemo and radiation patients. I guess the price went down and they are now using it for stomach flu patients. (gastrenteritis (sp?) / virus)
I got a presciption of it for it for future use.
The doc said there is a virus going around that takes up to 12 days to heal.
Good luck to all.
Just thought I would share. Will prob try to sleep now.
