[quote:Anonymous Coward 43437223:MV84MDYzNTRfNDE3Nzk4OThfNEMyNTFDQkQ=] some of my research... -------------- http://youtu.be/w-SjIMj9i6E Alpiste Seed (Canary Seed) Milk type 2 diabetes I have been drinking this milk for about 2 months now. 8 oz. In the a.m. And right before I go to bed. I don't have high blood pressure but my weak spot is my liver, so I'm taking it for that and because a girl is always looking to lose some weight. I am 56, 5'4 and 155. I have not lost any weight. But I don't have any fat rolls anywhere on my body., never did. I attribute that to a vegan lifestyle. Anyway, my mom started taking it with me and her high blood pressure has normalized to the point where she has stopped taking her blood pressure medication. Regarding the 'silica fibers', I have found that the guy posting these messages all over the internet just wants to scare you so that you can buy his alpiste from alpiste.com. He keeps writing about "research shows..." and there is no research anywhere except one done in the 1980's on rats. This alpiste.com is sold at an outrageous price. He talks about the seed having a fine hair on it- I have examined the seed under a microscope and see no hair on it just a SMOOTH shiny seed with a hard shell on it. But just in case, after I blend the milk, I let it sit for a few minutes. I then SKIM the top off, with a spoon, of the non-eatable husk. (Even the birds discard that part) then I strain it unto the container. Now here is a tip that I have not read anyone mention before - once you slowly and carefully strain the liquid - there will be seed at the bottom of your blender - let it fall into your strainer and then take a spoon and eat it. It is sooo delicious and such a waste to throw it out. It has a nutty taste and I am sure is loaded with protein and fiber. Remember, Blend, let it sit a few minutes, what falls to the bottom is live, eatable seed - the top is what gets thrown out. I wish everyone a happy healthy life. CHEERS. ---------------------------------------- Those who believe that the birdseed was only for “birds” do not know the properties and multiple benefits of this nutritious seed. It is very important not to sweeten the milk with white sugar, which is very harmful and irritating on your body, besides destroying the enzymes and the powerful effect of this milk. My grandmother was telling me that she got an email from a friend about the supposed health benefits of canary seeds. Has anyone eaten canary seeds?
She particularly spoke of using canary seeds to make a sort of canary seed milk.
