Original Message As I flew out to Denver this morning, the flight attendant gave the proverbial messge. Blah, blah, exit rows sort of thing.

But his "sissy" voice just simply irritated me and the guys and gals around me. We all just smirked and then eventually chuckled as the words with an "s" were über-softened.

Look, gay or straight - who cares - that's a whole separate unconnected issue. The thing that hit us was how sissy-ish so many men in our culture have become. Voices, mannerisms, affected glances. It just seems disingenuous. "Men without chests", as G. K. Chesterton wrote long ago.

We all talked for a bit on the plane. One of the guys in our discussion was an Idaho cowboy. His common sense just seemed to take over.

He said " The world needs men. Guys. People need masculine role models. Forget about the whole sex thing, we just need men. "

He had a lot of wisdom.

Am I alone on this issue? C'mon gentlemen..."man up", seems to be the watch word of the day.

Gimme your thoughts. I'd love to hear.
