The stockpile of black plastic "coffins" outside of Atlanta has drawn a lot of concern in the past few years. A lot of people saying that these containers are being stockpiled to prepare for some event where many many civilians are killed. Rough estimates are that there are about a half million of these "coffins" being stored.
HOWEVER, point of fact, it has already been shown that these are not coffins, but burial vaults. These are the containers that coffins go in, to prevent cave ins at cemetaries.

In fact, what we appear to be seeing is the Hercules Airseal model burial vault, in black...

Okay, so let's say there are a half million of these. Millions of people dies each year in America for one thing, but I'll admit, that it still doesn't quite fit for one company to have a stockpile quite so large. After all, many people are cremated, and there are other companies that make burial vaults as well. Wilburt burial vaults in fact, seems to be the market leader with some really nice models.
These polyguard vaults look like the no frills low budget burial vault.
Then I was struck by the company's motto there at the top of their page. "Serving those who serve."
THESE BURIAL VAULTS ARE FOR DEAD SOLDIERS.
They probably expected the body count to be a lot higher in or wars, and may even be staying prepared for the next event, Korea most likely.
So what say ye?
