Original Message Trickle-Down Pain: The Under-Stimulus Schwarzenegger’s Attempt To Kill UCLA Labor Studies Program

As a follow up to my previous diary dealing with ways that the stimulus failed, here's a much more human-scale example of the partial consequences. nbsp; The state of California is one of the hardest hit by the recession, although not the hardest hit in terms of percentage. nbsp; There is something close to an all-out war on education going on in the state. nbsp;At Calitics presently there are recent posts by Brian Leubitz on the a href=" [link to www.calitics.com] target=newbK-12/b/a and a href=" [link to www.calitics.com] target=newbState University/b/a battles going on. nbsp; Most people outside California simply refuse to understand how screwed up our constitution is--a solid Democratic majority can't screw in a lightbulb in this state, due to our archaic, anti-democratic 2/3rds rule that makes the US Senate look like a frikken SDS meeting circa 1962.
