Original Message The Lunacy of Birthers
by
American Citizen

As you may have already heard, there is a movement in this country that is attempting to claim President Barack Obama is not eligible to hold office because of questions about his citizenship.

It has been clearly proven over and over again that Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 to Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Hussein Obama Sr. A Certification of Live Birth from the state of Hawaii and newspaper articles in the local Honolulu newspapers as well as a public statement made by the current Governor of Hawaii, confirmed the birth of Obama in the United States.

But a lunatic fringe of hucksters, charlatans and crackpots would like you to believe otherwise.

Sheer Lunacy

Based on a jumbled mess of conspiracy theories and urban legends, the "Birther" movement consists of a group of mentally ill psychotics who believe Barack Obama is not eligible to be President under Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution because he was either;

1. Born in Kenya

2. Born with dual citizenship due to his father being a British subject in Kenya

3. Not given U.S. citizenship due to his mother being too young to pass on citizenship

4. Renounced his citizenship when he moved to Indonesia

5. Was given financial aid as a foreign student

As you can clearly see, the claims of the Birther movement are a dissembled amalgamation of distorted facts, outright lies and disinformation because;

1. Obama was proven to be born in Hawaii by his birth certificate, newspaper announcements and the Governor of Hawaii, who happens to be a Republican.

2. Obama was born an American citizen on American soil

3. See above response.

4. No one can legally renounce their U.S. citizenship without going through a lot of documented paperwork at the State Department; paperwork which would have surfaced by now if Obama had done such a thing. Someone who is underage, like Obama was when he moved to Indonesia, cannot legally renounce their citizenship without their parents involvement. This has never been verified or proven in the case of Obama.

5. No American citizen can receive financial aid as a foreign student

So why do these outright lies persist? Because of the collective mentality of the Birthers.

Racist Revisionism

The Birther moment is a form of revisionism; a revision of historic event that was made on November 4th, 2008. Birthers cannot accept the reality that was given to them by the American voting public. They must rewrite the course of events within their own minds in order to justify their delusional fantasies; fantasies that are similar to the illiterate scribblings of Anti-Semites who deny the reality of the Holocaust and its millions of victims.

Appalling Participants

What's even more appalling is the fact that two prominent people of Jewish descent are involved in this racially revisionist nonsense; Phil Berg, a lawyer from Philadelphia, and Orly Taitz, a lawyer from California, both of whom have filed lawsuits claiming Obama is not an American citizen.

Coming from a community which has been persecuted and chased out of every country and public office for thousands of years, Berg and Taitz should be ashamed of themselves as human beings. Their participation in this circus of bigotry is an embarrassment to the Jewish community in America who overwhelmingly voted for Obama. The activities of Berg and Taitz should be publicly condemned by the Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

Denial Of History

By denying Obama, the Birthers are denying an entire race of people their historic opportunity to make a difference in the world. By using the fallacy of "preserving the Constitution", the Birthers have constructed multiple, false, straw-man arguments in order to garner support for their ridiculous theories and "Jim Crow" attitudes against minorities occupying the highest public office in the land.

Racism And Xenophobia

The real foundation of the Birther movement is built upon a subconscious attitude of racism and xenophobia against the first African-American president as well as African-Americans and other minorities in general. For over two hundred years, Americans have been indoctrinated into accepting a caucasian male occupying the oval office and rejecting anyone who does not fit that profile. In their minds the Presidency is still a "Whites Only" occupation.

Suppressed Hatred

The historic election of President Obama has fueled fear and awakened suppressed hatred against a person who would dare upset and change the established pattern of occupancy in the White House. With all of these deranged, delusional fruitcakes opposing him, he's obviously doing something right.

Birthers Are Denying Racists

In conclusion, the Birther movement is the equivalent of Holocaust denial and racism. The subject of questioning President Obama's birth must be condemned whenever it arises in a discussion and its supporters must be forever marginalized from the forum of mainstream ideas for their moral and ethical ineptitude.
